Cemetery Minutes June 16,2016
Members present : Trustees : Jane M. Lucas, Carey Rodd ,Diane Whalley. Also present was Jim Lord ,Custodian.
The May minutes were read and approved by J. Lucas , C.Rodd and and D. Whalley
Old Business:
Trees at Unity and Marshall have been cut and removed. A crane will be rented to remove trees in Baptist and New Pond cemeteries. A damaged tree that was not on the original bid will be added to the invoice at Baptist .
Jane will notify Cornerstone headstone company with the updated repair list.
Three students from KRHS have come forward to help with the cleaning of the headstones.
New Business:
Jim will be more aggressive in removing dead shrubs in Sunny Plains. Also discussed was the condition of the grounds at Sunny Plains. There are several bare spots and burnt moss. It will be necessary to talk to someone who has knowledge in refurbishing the grounds and the potential cost.
There has been additional requests for the sale of single lots for the purpose of burial of cremated remains. It was decided to measure single lots on the unused section of Sunny Plains.
A recent visit to the Historical Society revealed documentation that there may be a family burial plot on Forrest Rd. Diane will research this information.
Diane attended the annual Trustee seminar earlier this month and informed the committee of the new laws that will be in effect on July 4th pertaining to cemetery trustees.
