Bradford Conservation Commission Meeting Minutes
September 16, 2014, 7pm at Brown Memorial Library
Present: George Beaton, Seth Benowitz, Nathanial Bruss, J Ann Eldridge, Patty Furness, Scott MacLean
Secretary’s Report:  The meeting minutes of 8/19/14 were amended to reflect that NFI students would be invited to the Bog boardwalk repair day.  The amended minutes were accepted as written.
Treasurer’s Report: Meg reported $1.83 interest earned on accounts.  Ann presented her canceled check for $130 for trail map printing, and will be reimbursed.  The 2015 budget was discussed; it was voted that $800 would be requested and presented to the Bradford Budget Committee.
Warner River Protective Designation Program: Ann attended the Warner Conservation Committee meeting on 9/03/14. Mike Tardiff, from the Central NH Regional Planning Commission, discussed applying for an Express Grant from the NH Charitable Foundation to help cover the $10,000 needed in the application process.
Sunapee Resort Expansion: A public meeting was held 8/26/14 to present the 5-year update to the proposed expansion plan.  The Friends of Mount Sunapee website has information on the proceedings.  Ann will draft a response, and submit.
NH Association for Conservation Commissions Conference:  This annual meeting will take place on Saturday November 1, 2014 in Laconia.  Members were encouraged to consult the website for a list of workshops offered.
Economics of Conserved Land: Seth has offered to write an article for The Bridge with information on how conserved land contributes to the state economy.
Conservation: Andy Deegan has spoken to land owners on two potential private easements.  He will keep the BCC updated.
Sunapee-Ragged-Kearsarge Greenway Coalition Trail Day: This work day on Sunday September 28 at 9a.m., will focus on the western end of Knights Hill Trail (off of County Road) to construct/maintain the waterbars for erosion control.  Gerry Gold has taken care of advertising, and George is the contact person.  Seth will make a poster for the post office.  Patty will provide cider.
Bog Boardwalk Repair Day: Scheduled for Sunday, October 19, at 9a.m., is our annual fall funfest.  Nathanial will purchase the necessary 40 hemlock boards from the Lumber Barn.  Meg will submit an article to The Bridge and Intertown Record, and Ann will contact the NFI School to determine any student interest in assisting.
Battle’s Trailhead: Scott mentioned the parking area needs grooming, and has offered to mow.  Thanks, Scott!
The meeting adjourned at 8pm.  The next meeting will be Tuesday, October 21, 2014, 7pm at BML.
