Regular Business

  1. Heating the Town Hall: The board is still waiting to hear back from the Solar Company that expressed interest in working with the Town. The Board along with members of the audience discussed the different options for heating including oil, gas, and wood burning furnaces. It was brought up that a furnace has been donated; Bob Lincoln will look further into this furnace and bring more information to the Board. The Board suggested that a subcommittee be formed to further discuss the different options for heating, then it was pointed out that time is of the essence. Bob will research pricing on the ductwork that will need to be done for an outdoor unit.
  2. Town Hall-Warrant item: Harry Wright was in attendance for the Restoration Committee and reported to the Board the committees’ plans for the Town Hall. Harry reported that the committee wants to move forward with a full basement along with the sprinkler system. The scope this year is to focus on heating, basement, sprinkler, and septic. Harry believes they will be asking for an $800,000 bond at Town Meeting. Jim supports this. Sonny stated that he is in support of it if there is a full cellar, the handicapped entrance is kept where it is and the bathrooms stay where they are. He would also like to see a back-up warrant (non-bonded) for just the basement. John would like to have more information and a formal presentation from the committee before he decides.
  3. Highway Block Grant Revenue: This revenue goes into the General Fund; Barry’s budget is funded by the General Fund.
