Minutes from June 3, 2008 Board Meeting
Trustees of Brown Memorial Library
Attendance included: Bea Howe, Penny Ulrich, Brooks McCandlish, Bob Manchester, Rod Jones, Meg Fearnley & Erica Gross
1. The minutes from the last meeting were read and accepted.
2. Treasurer’s report was read and accepted. A motion was made to accept all gifts and donations made to Brown Memorial Library from May 5 thru June 2, in the amount of $978.00 ($966.00 from the book & plant sale).
3. Librarian’s report was read and accepted.
4. Concrete still has not been poured for the book return. Bea spoke with Steve Lucier. He said that as soon he is free he will be by the Library to measure the spot and then will pour.
5. For the Independence Day parade we still need more kids and adults to be in our band. It was also decided that a banner should be professionally made that we can use for all BML events. Erica will check into pricing. The colors are to be forest green & white.
6. The friends are having book bags made for both kids and adults.
7. Fred Hubley asked if the front lawn of the library could be used on July 5th for the Kearsarge Community Band from 12:00 – 3:00 so that all may enjoy.
8. All volunteers have been scheduled for the next book sale on July 5th from 9:00-2:00.
9. Donald Ayer from Michigan has sent a letter asking if he could make a memorial bequest (donation) to be used for buying new books on environmental issues. We will respond that we would be very happy to accept this request but would like more information re: the memorial bequest.
10. Next meeting is July 7, 2008 at 7:00pm.
