Board of Selectmen Meeting
July 24, 2018
Pledge of Allegiance
Meeting called to order at 5:30 pm
Roll Call- Jim Bibbo, Chairman; John Pfeifle, Selectman; Michael James, Selectmen (via telephone); and Karen Hambleton, Town Administrator were in attendance
Appearances:
- The meeting convened to discuss the letter of resignation submitted by the Road Agent. The Board voted 3-0 to accept the resignation with regrets. It was noted that it is the Town’s position to retain its employees and that the Road Agent had resigned for personal reasons. A letter will be drafted thanking him for his service. The Board also voted 3-0 to continue his health benefits through the end of the month and pay out his unused vacation and comp time as is outlined in the Personnel Manual.
The Board stated that it supports the idea of promoting from within. John will talk to the three Highway employees to gauge their interest. It was also suggested that the position become salaried. Karen will do some research to see what other towns do and get corresponding compensation information.
The discussion regarding the Road Agent position will be discussed further at the Select Board meeting on July 30th.
The Board adjourned the meeting at 5:55pm.
The next Selectmen’s meeting will be held on Monday July 30th, 2018 at the Bradford Area Community Center.
