RFP for Building Improvements

The Town of Bradford is requesting proposals to provide and install two new Aluminum Entrances for the Bradford Area Community Center and one Break away, white vinyl Harvey Industry replacement unit with grills to match existing. One Vista Wall aluminum frame 6’x7’ store front door at the rear entry and one 5’x7’store front door at the front entry. Both front and real doors to have horizontal panic rods and continuous gear hinges, rear entry will have ADA exterior surface mounted weather proof stainless steel activating wall switches along with an interior surface mounted wall switch.

All work will be completed in accordance with specifications.

The proposals shall be delivered no later than 12:00 noon on May 10th, 2013 to the Selectmen’s office at 134 East Main Street, Bradford, NH 03221 or mailed to P.O. Box 436, Bradford, NH 03221. The selectmen will review proposals at their May 13th, 2013 meeting. All questions should be addressed to the town building inspector, Walter Royal 938-5900.

Job Opening – Building Inspector

Job opening

The Town of Bradford is accepting applications for the position of Building Inspector. This is a part time, as needed, hourly position. This position requires knowledge of building codes and local zoning regulations. Salary is dependant on experience. The successful candidate will report directly to the Bradford Board of Selectmen.

Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements

Sealed Bids for the proposed work of the East Main Street Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvements, Contract 2010257, will be received by the Town of Bradford, New Hampshire until 10:00 AM prevailing time on Tuesday, July 31st, 2012 at the Bradford Town Hall, at which place and time said Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

This project is funded in part with Federal funds and all applicable provisions apply. The conditions for Federally funded projects in Section 00810 – Supplemental Conditions are a part of the construction contract. This project is subject to Davis-Bacon wage rates. The most recently published wage rate information is provided in Section 00810 – Supplemental Conditions.

The proposed work includes the bicycle and pedestrian improvements on East Main Street and appurtenant work as described in Section 01010.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid security in accordance with Article 13 – Bid Security of Section 00100 – Instructions to Bidders.

Drawings and other Contract Documents will be mailed, if requested, upon receipt of a street (not a P.O. Box) address suitable for commercial carrier delivery, and an additional check in the amount of $25.00, payable to Kleinfelder / S E A as a nonrefundable postage and handling fee.

All bidders are required to purchase drawings and contract documents a minimum of ten (10) days prior to the bid opening unless otherwise approved by the Engineer.

No award will be made to any bidder who is not pre-qualified for Road Construction by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.

Upon request, the contractor shall submit Section 00420 to the Engineer. If required, Section 00420 shall be submitted a minimum of seven (7) days prior to the bid opening.

Successful bidder must furnish a Construction Performance Bond and a Construction Payment Bond in accordance with Article 18 – Contract Bonds of Section 00100 – Instructions to Bidders.

The Cemetery Trustees are accepting bids for the position of Custodian of the town’s seventeen cemeteries. The period of the contract will be from March 1, 2012 through November 30, 2012. Proof of insurance is required of the successful bidder.

The job description and specifics for the Custodian position may be obtained by contacting Tom Riley at 938-5539.

All bids must be received at the town office by December 21, 2011 at 5:00pm. The bids will be reviewed by the Cemetery Trustees. The Board reserves the right to refuse any and all bids.

Request for Proposal – demo of East Main St Building

Request for Proposals

The town of Bradford needs to take down a building destroyed by fire in 2008.

We are requesting proposals to raze, remove, and dispose of a single family home located at 149 East Main Street, Tax Map 17, Lot 49. The building was built in the early 1900’s and is 2.5 stories with an estimated 6700 square ft. The proposal should also include a detailed description of the process to complete with a proposed start date and the length of time required to properly raze, remove, and dispose of the building.

Successful bidders and their subcontractors must have all permits and licenses to properly dispose of any and all hazardous materials found in the tear down and must provide proof of any such license in response to this request. The building contains asbestos, and may contain other hazardous materials such as lead paint. The town will conduct an Environmental Assessment of the property, which bidders may request and review at the Selectmen’s office. Successful bidders also must have and provide proof of valid commercial general liability insurance, including coverage for the handling and disposal of any hazardous materials found on site, on an occurrence basis with limits of liability in an amount not less than One Million Dollars ($1,000,000) combined single limit for each occurrence, and Three Million Dollars ($3,000,000) in the annual aggregate. The successful bidder shall have and shall provide proof of valid worker’s compensation coverage as required by law. The successful bidder shall furnish the town with certificates of insurance evidencing the insurance coverage set forth above, including naming the town as additional insured. The successful bidders will be required to indemnify and hold harmless the town from any claims of damages that may occur on the subject site and that may result from the scope of work as described.

Public Notice – Contractor interviews & New Meeting Schedule

Public Notice

The Bradford Board of Selectmen will interview those responding to the Town’s RFP to replace the heating system at the Town hall on Monday beginning at 6:00 pm.

The Selectmen will meet again on September 27th at 5:30 pm for a regularly scheduled meeting.

The Board will meet every Tuesday evening at 5:30 pm until further notice.

Bement Cover Bridge Roof Replacement

The Town of Bradford Board of Selectmen is requesting proposals for the installation of a 24 gage colored steel standing seam roof on the Bradford Bement Covered Bridge. This job will include the removal of the existing bridge roof, with necessary precautions taken to environmentally protect the West Branch of the Warner River, all staging, fall arrest gear and safety personnel to be OSHA compliant. All slopes are to receive 30 lb synthetic felt underlay and a fabricated drip edge on all eves and rakes. Ridges are to be vented and all penetrations are to be properly “flashed”.

Proposals are to be submitted to the Bradford Selectmen’s office, P.O. Box 436, Bradford, NH 03221 by 12 noon, Friday, July 29th, 2011. Selectmen will review all bids and make a selection at a later date. The Board of Selectmen reserves the right to reject any and all bids.

Select Board Meeting Rescheduled to 01.20.11

January 18, 2011

Meeting Cancellation and Reschedule

The regularly scheduled Selectmen’s Meeting of January 18th, 2011 will be canceled because of weather and rescheduled for January 20th at 3:00 pm.

The Board will open the meeting at 3:00 pm to consider RFQ’s received on the Sidewalk Grant. The regular meeting will begin at 5:00pm.
