Beth McGuinn, land specialist with Ausbon Sargent Land Preservation Trust brought draft of presentation of nearly completed conservation easement on Battles Farm. To be brought to the Selectmen for approval of expenditure of funds earmarked. She also discussed other landowners in the area who might be interested in preserving their properties.

West Branch of Warner River clean up: a river clean up is being planned for September 16, a Friday. Bradford Market to allow access from their parking lot. Other landowner permission to be sought.

Automotive salvaging permit: Seth presented his findings on salvage yards. It is the Conservation Commission’s view that recycling of resources is important, care must be taken that this operation be run with all Best Management Practices in place as it abuts the Warner River and overlays an important aquifer that may be needed for town water in the future. A ‘Compliance Certification Statement’ should be a part of site approval. Selectmen will need to be updated on their role in approving such sites.
