BUDGET COMMITTEE MEETING
FEBRUARY 5, 2014
6:30PM
Call To Order and Roll Call:
Dick Keller, Chair called the meeting to order at 6:30pm with Jon Marden, Don Jackson, George Cilley, Sue McKevitt, and Marge Cilley, secretary present. Will Hurley and John Pfeifle, Selectmen Representative were absent.
Review and Consideration of January 29, 2014:
Motion was made by George Cilley to approve the minutes as presented. Seconded by Jon Marden. Motion carried 5-0.
Fire Department – Mark Goldberg, Chief:
Mark Goldberg advised the Fire Department had a meeting last evening and reviewed the CIP spreadsheet. Interest was discussed between lease/purchase and outright purchasing. Purchase outright this year with the raising of $80,000 by vote at town meeting with no interest and put money in Capital Reserve next year was also a thought. The current piece of equipment is 29 years old. There could also be a trade in. Much discussion was put into this Article.
Decision was to table Article Thirteen until the February 10th Selectmen’s Meeting.
Dick Keller, Chair recessed the Budget Committee’s Meeting.
Regular Session of Budget Committee is re-opened after Public Hearing has been closed at 7:40pm
It was thought the MS-7 will be signed after the next Budget Committee Meeting, on February 12th.
Discussion re: who will speak on which item/Article.
Conversation regarding funding for the Town Hall based upon amounts and interest received today as it changes the numbers, no matter what is chosen to be done.
February 12th Budget Committee meets at 6:30pm followed by Public Hearing at 7:00pm.
