Burning Permits for Rainy Weather

If you are planning on burning some brush while it rains, remember YOU need to obtain a burn permit. Just because it is raining does not mean you are allowed to burn without one.

Once you obtain a burn permit, you would be permitted to burn during the day light hours (8-5) if there is a steady rain falling. If the rain stops during that time period you are required to put the fire out. If it is after 5:00pm you can continue to burn if the rain stops.

REMEMBER: a fire is only considered out, when no smoke, heat is present. You are also required to have the means to control the fire (water hose, gardening tools), and never leave a wood fire unattended.
