Meeting called to order at 1:05 p.m.
Present: Marlene Freyler, Jarna Perkins, Erica Gross
- Erica made a motion to approve the minutes August 10, 2022. Jarna seconded.
All in favor, 3-0
- In review of the paperwork given by Harry Wright (Trustee of the Trust Funds), it was found that monies from the Ida Redington Trust, $13,355.21, which was dissolved during 2019-2020, were put back into the Cemetery Perpetual Care Funds when they should have been moved to the Cemetery Maintenance Funds. Marlene will speak with Harry Wright and the Attorney General’s office to see how this can be corrected.
- In 2018, a warrant article for $10,000.00 for the repair of gravestones was approved. Marlene stated that she was unable to find the money in the breakdown of cemetery funds. It was decided to invite Karen Hambleton, Town Administrator, to our next meeting to help us understand where the money is located.
- Three Cemetery Deeds were signed for Gross, Leighton and Vanatta.
- Cornerstone Cemetery Services started repairs at Presby Cemetery on 10-17-2022.
- Jarna mentioned that we should contact Laurie Buchar from the Bradford Historical Society regarding the Cemeteries that will now be considered historical.
Jarna made a motion to have signs created that would be posted on these cemeteries making people aware of the preservation of these historic cemeteries. Three signs shall be created to the effect of stating “Please don’t touch or lean on the stones”. Marlene seconded.
