Cemetery Trustees Minutes 03.20.24

GroupSheila Denoncourt made a motion to approve the
October 18, 2023 and February 21, 2024 meeting minutes. Dawn Gezelman seconded the motion and the minutes were unanimously approved.
 
Marlene Freyler-She informed the trustees that this is neither a Cemetery Commission or Committee, but actually a Board of Cemetery Trustees.
-There is currently one person interested in the landscaping contract.
-One quote for the Cemetery Rules signs has been received. She will contact another vendor, in Newport, to obtain an additional quote.
-Vendor quotes will be requested, regarding the removal of plumbing and electrical work required in the Sunny Plain Cemetery.  
Group discussions-Revisions to the cemetery rules, which will be posted, were discussed. The finalized version of these rules is attached.
-The posting of speed limit signs (in cemeteries) was discussed. Marlene Freyler will contact Steve Hall (Highway Department) to inquire about speed limit signs being posted in the cemeteries.
-When negotiating the landscaping contract, specific language is required to be included regarding any work, outside the normal scope of work. Any additional work will require prior approval before extra work is performed/ invoiced.
-In anticipation of a new landscaping contract, the trustees will meet on April 1, at 3:00 PM, to conduct a physical assessment of all work required in the 17 town cemeteries. Thereafter, the work will be prioritized.
-After a discussion regarding an additional flag being added, below the US flag, it was decided that the New Hampshire state flag could be added.
  

ACTION ITEMS:

Marlene Freyler-Will contact the Newport vendor to obtain a quote for four (4) signs, including their installation.
-Obtain vendor quotes, regarding the removal of plumbing and electrical work required in the Sunny Plain Cemetery.
-Will contact Steve Hall (Highway Department) to inquire about speed limit signs being posted in the cemeteries.
