Secretary’s Report: Minutes from 5/15/12 accepted as read.
Treasurer’s Report: Meg’s report of account expenses and balance accepted.
Ausbon Sargent: Beth McGuinn presented Ausbon Sargent’s conservation priorities plan for Bradford. Discussion followed.
Scion Property: Beth McGuinn addressed Scion property concerns. Beth has spoken with Mr Scion, who desires to donate the property, and may be willing to remove the unusable building. Ausbon Sargent is unable to use the property, and cannot give to Ed Erickson directly. Members discussed demolishing the building through volunteer effort, or perhaps have the fire department do a controlled burn. Mr. Scion will be in touch with Beth to explore other possibilities.
Battles Trail Hike: There will be a guided trail hike Thursday, August 2. Ed and Andy have approved the trail layout, and construction of the trail will begin June 24 @ 8:00 a.m. An article for the Bridge needs to be submitted by 15 July for the August issue.
Annual Bog Hike: The bog hike will be Thursday, September 13 from 3-5:00 p.m. The bog boardwalk maintenance and repair day will be Sunday, August 26.
Bobcat Lecture: The lecture is scheduled for Friday, August 24. The time and setting will need to be determined.
DES letter re: Sonny Harris wetlands permit: more information needed by DES.
ZBA: The Chivers’ application for an auto recycling business has been postponed. The town has no jurisdiction to address the State requirement for a 660 ft. setback from the highway (Rte 103). We have also received notification
of the Fournier’s application to build a house on a non-conforming lot (.67 acres) on Davis Rd. The environmental impact will be assessed by George, Ann, and Patty on June 21 at 5:00 p.m. The ZBA hearing is June 27. The proposed
communication tower on Rte 114 needs special exception for the tower site, and a variance for the height. An application has yet to be submitted to the ZBA.
Planning Board: Valley Excavation wants to do further excavating at the gravel pit operation on Breezy Hill Rd. It is outside the 100-year flood zone. The public hearing was June 12.
Forestry Wetlands Impact Notification: It is noted we have received Ms. Mendez’s forestry impact notification for Lot 95, Map 6.
Bradford Hazard Mitigation Plan: Brooks McCandlish has participated in the formulation and completion of this plan, which will enable the town to qualify for FEMA assistance.
NRI: Fine-tuning and finalization of the NRI will be Tuesday, July 10 @ 7:00 p.m. at the library.
Meeting adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
Patty Furness, Secretary
