Meeting Minutes
October 16, 2012, 7:00 p.m. at Brown Memorial Library

Secretary’s Report: Accepted as read.

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer absent.

Sam Rushia will celebrate his achievement to the rank of Eagle Scout Saturday, November 10, 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in New London. CC members are invited to attend.

Ausbon Sargent Invasive Species workshop will be Thursday, November 1, 6-8:30 p.m. at the KRMS in North Sutton.

Merrimack County Conservation District annual meeting/dinner will be Wednesday, October 24, 6-8:30 at the New London Historical Society. Deb Stanley, Executive Director of AS, will be the featured speaker.

Ausbon Sargent annual meeting will take place Sunday, 21 October, 3:00 p.m. at the Newbury Center Meeting House. Peter McKinley, a climate ecologist at the Wilderness Society, will be the featured speaker.

Annual meeting of Conservation Commissions conference will be Saturday, November 3, 8:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Rundlett School in Concord. Registration deadline is October 25. Seth, George, and Patty have expressed interest in attending and fees will be paid by the CC.

Ausbon Sargent Conservation Commission Chair meeting will take place Thursday, October 25 in New London. Seth will attend if Ann is unable to go.

A subcommittee to identify landowners with significant properties in the focus areas who might be interested in learning more about preserving some aspects of their land is being organized. Ann will contact members with a meeting date and time.

The Natural Resource Inventory draft is online, with much appreciation to Seth. Members will do final proof online.

Bog guides will be printed using the town office copier.

George shared his experience at the Coverts workshop. He has committed to leading a full moon snowshoe hike this winter. He will also be assisting Ausbon Sargent in preserving wildlife habitat.

The meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m. The next meeting will be Tuesday, November 20, at 7:00
p.m.
