PARKS AND RECREATION MINUTES
August 13th, 2020
5:30 PM BRADFORD COMMUNITY CENTER 134 EAST MAIN STREET
The meeting was called to order at 5:40 pm
Members Present: Devin Pendleton (Chair), Joel Banascak and Katie Olohan
Members Absent: Karen Hambleton, Justin Dohrn, Bruce Edwards, Jason Allen (Selectmen’s Rep)
Public Present: Richard Olohan, John Roy
To Do:
- Review and consideration of the July 9th, 2020 minutes (minutes will be reviewed at the next Parks and Recreation meeting September 10th, 2020)
- Review invoice in the amount of $975.00 for swim lessons held in July. The total amount collected for participation was approximately $450.00. Devin Pendleton read into record an email from a resident expressing their appreciation for the swim program that was offered and how much their child gained from participating.

Other Communications:
- Parks and Recreation discussed the trust account for French’s Park and possibly using the interest towards maintenance of the park. Parks and Recreation discussed ideas on how to generate funding for a future park attendant at French’s Park for the summer of 2021.
- Parks and Recreation discussed the status update pertaining to amending the zoning ordinance for French’s Park. Devin Pendleton will follow up with Karen Hambleton regarding the highway ordinance for parking. Parks and Recreation would like to see the Zoning ordinance amended; a petition warrant article for the 2021 town meeting maybe an option for the ordinance to be amended.
- Parks and Recreation discussed the fence at Brown Shattuck field and how to fund completing the fence project, possibly cleaning around the snack shack and establishing functional parking spaces.
- Devin Pendleton gave an update that the roof on the snack shack at Brown Shattuck field has been completed. Parks and Recreation would like to thank member Justin Dohrn for his hard work and volunteering his time to make projects like this happen.
- Parks and Recreation reviewed the current charter and will have a discussion at the next meeting on September 10th,2020.
- Joel Banascak will follow up with the chief of police for the gun safety and eddy the eagle course.
Parks and Recreation Communications:
The next Parks and Recreation Meeting will be held on September 10th, 2020 at 5:30pm at the Bradford Community Center on 134 East Main Street.
