Selectman’s Minutes of the October 25th, 2011 meeting

Review minutes from October 18, 2001

Minutes approved with corrections – Added the vote and results of the motion to move the Selectmen’s Office and Town Clerk/Tax Collector to the Community Center – temporarily until the air quality problems in the town hall are resolved.

Appearances:

1. BACC to bring Mission Statement – Jim Valiquet gave the Board a revised edition of the 2009 Mission Statement, Chairman Wright said that they would read this and discuss it next week. Governance Board Members will include Jim Valiquet, Chairman; Bruce Edwards, Vice Chairman; Karen Hambleton, Secretary; Ona Ruchti, Margaret Raymond, Debbie Flinkstrom and Will Hurley

2. The Town Hall Restoration Committee, represented by Eileen Kelley, has been reorganized and will be researching what approach to take on the restoration process for the building. The Selectmen voted unanimously to establish the committee and requested a mission statement and list of members for the next meeting.

3. Another Committee, headed by Marlene Freyler, is going to research paying the CDBG grant back and taking over the Community Center building for Police, T/C T/C and the Selectmen’s Office. Marlene will form a Committee to investigate alternative sites and solutions to the town’s facility problems. Selectmen requested a mission statement and list of members for the next meeting.

4. Bement Bridge will get its new roof. Money will be transferred from the Legal budget to the Bridge repair line item to pay for the job. The color of the new roof will be forest green.

5. Town has received the court authority to Demo the Griggs/ Sanborn burned house. All permits and testing have to be scheduled, as well as an inventory, before any work can begin. RFP will be posted for this job.

6. Dick Moore has given his resignation from Cemetery maintenance for the Town. Dick has done an excellent job for 37 years.

7. Health Insurance rates have been released. Overall rate increase of 13.6%. The office is still waiting to hear from the private insurance for their rates.

8. Contract signed for a trial load of “Ice Begone”.

9. Letters were signed for the private bridge inspection off Fairgrounds Road.

10. Letter was signed for the Town Clerk/Tax Collector to continue as agent for boat registrations.

11. RFP’s for cleaning and landscaping were discussed. These will be prepared and posted in town.

12. Board moved to non public session per RSA 91A3IIa to discuss personnel reviews. The vote was unanimous – Time 7:00pm. Return from non public session at 8:00 pm by unanimous vote. Selectmen will continue to review personnel and have decided to apply a 3.5% COLA to wages.
