TOWN HALL RESTORATION COMMITTEE

DECEMBER 19, 2013

Call to Order and Roll Call:

Eileen Kelly, Chair called the meeting to order with Audrey Sylvester, Marcia Keller, Sandy Paul, Jim Bibbo, John Pfeifle, Mel Pfeifle , Jim Bruss, Bruss Construction, Nikki Dubaere, George Cilley, Karen Hambleton, Scott MacLean, Sue Reynolds and Marge Cilley, Secretary present.

Review and Consideration of November 25, 2013 Minutes:

Motion was made, and seconded to approve the minutes. Marcia Keller mentioned the incorrect spelling of her name. Motion carried unanimously with edit.. Sandy Paul was thanked for doing the minutes.

John Pfeifle advised Channel 9 would be covering the covered bridge contest tomorrow am at 6:45am.

Fund Raising report:

Eileen thanked, Mel, Sue, Nikki and anyone who was involved in the Greens Sale.

Mel Pfeifle advised the Greens sale held for two weekends was a success and a lot of fun. $$1889.00 was received in cash and checks, invoices total of $556.14 leaving a net of $1,332.86.

The pie sale was mentioned, and everyone who made pies were thanked as were the people who made desserts for the spaghetti supper put on by St. Peter’s Lodge. Marge Cilley stated that not one person who was asked for pies or dessert refused. The pie sales totaled $250.00 and the proceeds from the spaghetti supper netted a little over $300.00. Mention was made of the upcoming Progressive Dinner on January 25th.

Mel Pfeifle stated that any ideas from donors’ or people who pledge can be e-mailed to the Financial Committee. Much discussion ensued regarding methods of obtaining funds, looking for matching funds as well as Grants.

Jim Bruss indicated there are Grants from PSNH, PUC. A secure room for: “Homeland Security” for an emergency operation center could cover 50% of the cost.

Pellet furnace equipment was also discussed with extending it to the Library as well as the Fire Station.

Other finance possibilities were discussed with a date of January 3rd. for each member to come up with a list of names who may make donations, and e-mail the list to Karen Hambleton.

The Building Committee needs to hold a meeting to come up with a figure to complete fundamentals.

Jim Bruss acknowledged they have talked with town employees and the feedback is positive, also had a positive meeting with Rural Heritage Connection. Jim Bruss also had a favorable meeting with Mark Goldberg, Fire Chief who indicated a 3rd party for fire protection Engineer should be involved. The Fire Chief did indicate there is a concern regarding the three parking slots along Main Street for fire access.

Spray foam was discussed which does a better job of sealing and is less money.

The Water storage tank can contain 25,000 gallons of water which would help tighten numbers.

Additional discussion ensued regarding contacting different groups in town regarding funds.

Question was asked of what the Professional Financial Planner is doing. It was stated that she has taken a job out of state, but will still write scripts etc.

The Building Committee is scheduled to meet January 9, 2014.

Next meeting of the Town Hall Restoration Committee is scheduled for January 16, 2013.

No other business to come before the board meeting adjourned 8:25pm.
