TOWN OF BRADFORD

PLANNING BOARD

WORK SESSION

SEPTEMBER 23, 2008

7:00 PM

Call to Order and Roll Call:

Phil LaMoreaux, Chair called the September 23, 2008 meeting to order at 7:00pm with Barbara Vannata, Marcia Keller, Sonny Harris, Jane Johnsen, Alternate, Jim Bibbo, Alternate present. Bill Glennie arrived at 7:30pm. Barry Wheeler was absent as was Jeff Aarons, Alternate and Carol Meise, Alternate.

Phil LaMoreaux, Chair advised he has received an e-mail from Jeff Aarons, Alternate advising he will be forwarding a letter to the Planning Board with his resignation.

The Planning Board made a unanimous decision to accept Jeff Aarons resignation with regrets.

Review and Acceptance of the August 26, 2008 minutes:

Motion was made to approve the August 26, 2008 minutes by Jim Bibbo, Seconded by Barbara Vannata. Motion carried 4-0.

Phil LaMoreaux, Chair seated Jane Johnsen for Barry Wheeler, and Jim Bibbo for Bill Glennie.

To Do Folder:

1. A letter from Harriett Hobbs was read by Phil LaMoreaux, Chair in response to a letter sent to her on July 28, 2008 regarding a gravel pit. It was decided that individual members of the planning board will do a “walk on” the gravel pit on Pleasant Valley Road and get back to the planning board at the next meeting for a decision.

Paper was signed requesting George Caraffa’s refund check from the treasurer be completed.

Site Plan Regulations:

Site Plan Regulations were gone over for additional and final corrections and the public hearing for the new regulations was set for October 28, 2008.

Budget:

The Planning Board received a letter dated September 16, 2008 from the Selectmen requesting the Budget information for the upcoming 2009 year. Questions arose regarding the breakdown of the different accounts pertaining to the planning board.

Jim Bibbo will check with Cheryl Behr, Administrator regarding the break down, to hopefully fine tune the figures in all departments regarding the Planning Board.

Gravel Pits:

Discussion ensued regarding gravel pits owners, and it was unanimously decided that letters need to be forwarded to the following:

Messer, Map 5, Lot 114, – Carter, Map 4, Lot 10, – Andrews, Map 13, Lot 2 & 114, – Ayer and Goss, Map 6, Lot 104 and Brunnhoezl, Map 6, Lot 103.

The letters being forwarded to the pit owners will advise of a Hearing on October 28, 2008, which will give them an opportunity to speak with the Planning Board. A copy of the letters need to go to the Assessors Office. A letter is needed to be sent to George Naughton regarding his NOD on Map 6, Lot 101, for a follow-up. Also a follow up letter will be written to John Fortune regarding his gravel pit.

Phil LaMoreaux, Chair will request a time to meet with the Selectmen.

Letters to be written:

A letter will be written to NFI requesting to know if all or what permits have been received and to request a response to the planning board advising of same by October 10, 2008. Their Notice of Decision was written on December 13, 2007.

A letter written to the Selectmen dated September 2, 2008 regarding Carolyn Demers was discussed. At this time, no response from the Selectmen has been received.

General conversation ensued concerning many topics of concern with the planning board.
